Lake Argyle

The boys went fishing again at Spillway Creek. After much procrastinating Kirst and I booked the lake cruise. The girls spent the morning relaxing by the pool - the only sensible thing to do in 43 degrees. We had a big cook up of bacon and eggs for brunch. The kids played in the air-conditioned comfort of our van and Arch finished building the remote control car which they took for a test run. At 2.30 the bus picked us up to take us to the boat ramp for the cruise. The much anticipated cruise met our expectations even if it was a rip off. Our guide took us around various points of interest including the spillway, the dam wall and the history of the Duracks (Gaz slept through this). We got to have a couple of swims and travelled 20km into the huge waterway. We fed some spitting archer fish, spotted a freshie and some rock wallabies. We watched the sunset and were fortunate to also have a full moon which made for a magical view. While we had a couple of drinks and crackers the kids swam and jumped off the front of the boat. When we got back we had a 'chippie' dinner at The Cobbler.
